“Its the small things that make the day great”....kk

I first discovered my passion for special events when I was a little girl along side my mom planning parties for my large Irish family, Christmas Cocktail Parties, Birthday’s, Graduation’s and the list goes on.  I didn’t know it at the time that I could make a living doing something that I loved and came so natural. While attending the University of California, Santa Barbara I came up with this wonderful idea for a new type of event company.  It was a company that focused on small intimate events and dates that would come in a pretty box with everything you needed all taken care of. Over the years the idea expanded into a full-scale event business with that same focus incorporated. After graduating college I returned home to the Bay Area and while I was eager to move forward with my great business idea it was my wise parents that urged me to put on my business suit and enter the work force to sharpen my skills.  I took my first job working in professional baseball where I worked in the special events and advertising departments. I later traded in my baseball cap and dove into the world of Venture Capital.  I continued corporate event planning for a predominant VC firm in Palo Alto.

While working at the VC firm I started planning personal social events and “Date in a Box Packages” in my free time. I discovered that I relish in developing very distinct experiences, touching one client at a time, turning their stories into reality. It was then that the entrepreneur in me quickly took flight and Date in a Box Events was created.

I take pleasure in sharing my creative ideas to plan memorable events that include lots of personal touches. My thinking begins outside of the box. I address every event I plan with the same philosophy, “Its the small things that make the day great”. The attention to those small details is what makes your day unique, one of a kind and so special.
